An angel

In an email from a young nun, I read: "At our community centre, we have a wonderfully colourful group of people from the margins of society, us sisters and all sorts of different people who get involved, enjoy the community and help make it what it is. A few weeks ago, a refugee woman joined us. With her great warmth, which she manages to express despite her limited vocabulary, she is simply an angel. With her sensitive and hands-on manner, she is a great enrichment to the group.

This morning I was on my way to my holiday. Suddenly I met her, already far away from my city. We were both totally surprised and very happy. She was on her way to an appointment and was looking for the address without internet. I was able to quickly take her to the address before I had to go to the train station. There was such a joy between us. I believe that, without saying it, we both felt that we had been sent to each other. I had the impression that God was giving us an Emmaus experience. We experienced fellowship with Jesus, who carries us, at home and on the road."
