I read in an email: My boss broke her leg and had to stay in hospital. She will be out of action for at least a long time, which means a huge workload for our team. I visited her yesterday. We chatted about all sorts of things and I asked her if it would be OK for a Christian friend of mine to come and take a look at our business. ‘Of course,’ was her reply. ‘How do you know her?’ And so a conversation developed in which I was able to say for the first time that I am a Christian, that I have many questions about the Church, but that I have remained faithful to my faith and am searching for new ways to live according to it. She listened intently and then replied, ‘I feel the same way.’ I was stunned; I hadn’t expected that. God had never been a topic of conversation between us. Then she asked me if I am a person who prays and, after I answered positively, she asked me to pray for her. ‘That means a lot to me!’ she added. – What a blessing a broken leg can be! We said goodbye with a heartfelt hug and promised to pray for each other!
