Divine answer

What am I going to preach again, I asked myself on Saturday morning. The " unfair story" of the workers in the vineyard who all get a denarius despite working different hours was on my mind. With these thoughts in my heart, I walked through our town where a flea market was being held. I strolled among the stalls where many children were offering their wares. Behind a table I saw a little boy standing, looking a little sad. "Well, is the business going well?" I asked him. Then he explained to me that if I got my bike and my backpack sold, then the day would be good. But so far I have sold almost nothing. Then he looked at the world quite sadly. I told him, "And I really need to buy something from you today!" Then he showed me all his toys that he no longer needed. I decided on an older wooden toy and bought it from him. He was totally happy. As I left, he waved intensely after me. Back home, the message of my sermon was clear: God does not ask: What does the individual deserve? But: What does the individual need?
