Shared pain

A message reaches me from Ukraine. "I'm still lying in bed trying to catch up on a little sleep, because last night there was another attack on our neighbourhood. Two of us were sitting in the corridor of our apartment block. I tried to stay strong to comfort my flatmate and give her support." Then, in an attached audio file, I hear two minutes of rocket splinters and Martins horns. An intimidating and threatening situation. I feel the fear of all those who had to endure this again. I can see the time at which the audio was recorded: 3 o'clock in the morning. Deeply shaken and moved, I listen to this noise of destruction twice and pray for those who are now in this situation. The shared pain and shared fear become a bridge of love.
