Silent solidarity

The second annual day of the beginning of the war in Ukraine had arrived. I had many people from Ukraine and in Ukraine in my heart. I sent them all a message and let them know that I was suffering with them and praying for them. I received a voicemail from a mother of two children. Her voice was very tearful. She told me about her mother and brother, who were living between the front lines of the Ukrainian and Russian soldiers near Kherson and were in mortal danger every day. I felt all the misery and powerlessness of this woman. I visited her in the afternoon. We talked for a long time. She entrusted me with all her suffering. I couldn't take anything away from her, but I could let it touch my heart and carry it with her. When I left, she said: "Thank you for always being there!" We said goodbye with tears in our eyes. - I had written to many Ukrainian friends in the morning to send me the names of their loved ones, for whom I should pray especially on this painful day. When I looked in the evening, 72 people had been entrusted to me, some had already fallen at the front. In the silence of the evening, I prayed to God for them all.
